What Is Hard disk?

Hard-disk is one type of permanent storage device. Hard-disk use 17 voltage of power supply. hard disk is an external memory. all data were save on plotter in hard disk. in hard disk data was saved in sector wise form. one sector size is 512 MB.

Data which is present on plotter was read and write with the help of head. There is a magnet on front of the head.

Types Of Hard-Disk :-

1. SATA - Serial Advance Technology Attachment
2. PATA - Parallel Advance Technology Attachment
3. SCSI - Small Computer System Interface
4. SSD - Solid State Drive
5. SSHD - Solid State Hybrid Drive

SATA Hard-Disk :-

To supply the power in SATA hard disk chip connector is used. and if there is no chip connector available then 4 Pin Molex connector should be joined with chip converter. In SATA hard disk jumber settings are done by default.

Beside the chip converter there is SATA cable. that prefer data transfer between hard disk and motherboard.

PATA Hard-Disk :-

In PATA hard disk there is 4 Pin Molex Connector is used for power supply.
In PATA Hard-disk there are 4 pin jumper settings devided in 2 pairs :-
1. Primary Master
2. Primary Slave
3. Secondary Master
4. Secondary Slave

These All pins of jumper provide hard disk detection to CPU. in this jumper settings hard disk and CD&DVD alternative assembled. it means that if hard disk is in primary master then CD/DVD or other hard disk should be connected with other three jumper settings.

Beside of jumper settings 39 Pins of IDE Connector(Integrated Drive Electronics) is available for transferring data between motherboard to hard disk and hard disk to mother board.

SCSI, SSD And SSHD are new Generation Hard disks.
